As leaders in the industry, AyA is always keeping a close eye on emerging trends and making sure we are always innovating and setting trends of our own. Our designers have collected their thoughts and observations on popular trends to look for this year, these are our AyA Home Trends Report for 2022. This is a year of creative details and creating custom spaces that cater to our unique lifestyles, with a focus on our health and sustainable quality and a touch of country charm.
The move to natural wood continues in 2022. While white kitchens are still in demand, warm toned woods such as Maple, Cherry, Oak and Walnut with lighter stains to showcase beautiful wood grains are gaining traction, whether throughout the kitchen or as accents. Natural, warm feeling kitchens are on the rise.
More than ever we are all spending more time at home. Naturally we want our homes to be more comfortable. This has led to the demand for more customized and fully custom kitchens. One size fits all is no longer an option. To complement our mass customization model of production, AyA has responded by introducing our ELITE line which adds a more fully custom alternative at an affordable price point. 2022 is the year for creating unique spaces to fit our unique lifestyles.
ELITE CUSTOMIZATIONWorking from home has become the norm for many of us. While 2021 saw a trend in home offices, in 2022 we are seeing a rise in coffee stations. This coffee revolution has created a super functional cabinet which is beautiful both in the opened or closed position. Picking the right technology means customers can have the cabinet doors inside or outside of the cabinetry. Efficient and creative cabinetry creates the perfect spot you get our quick caffeine pick me up any time of the day.
ORGANIZATIONHomeowners more than ever want to build a healthy environment with quality materials. The imperative of taking steps to combat climate change means we all have a responsibility to lower our energy consumption and reduce our carbon footprint. Over the past 20 years AyA has been on the forefront of green design, most recently a transition to all water-based finishes and partnering with the University of Toronto on a Phytoremediation project on our property. AyA Kitchens is proud to announce we are taking our commitment to the environment onegiant leap forward with the commencement of a new solar project which will see over 1000 solar panels installed on our manufacturing facility rooftop. Sustainability is longer just a goal, it’s an obligation.
AyA SOLAR PROJECTWhile modern kitchens have been the popular go to for the past decade, we are seeing the farmhouse style edging into many kitchen spaces. Creating a nostalgic cozy atmosphere is on the top of many design lists. AyA’s New Contemporary collection of cabinetry is the popular choice. The refined thin rails of the New Contemporary collection allow it to cater to almost any style. In 2022, that style is farmhouse. Customers are adding country comfort touches with transitional flair.
