Fine Details
WINDERMERE OYSTER & PITCH BLACK

The desired aesthetic was to capture the Victorian style but adding a modern touch. AyA’s Windermere door style provides a simple yet modern detail and paired with crown molding adds a nice traditional element. The colour palette was kept clean with Oyster cabinetry paired with Pitch Black accents for the fridge section, floating shelves and hints on the island posts. Adding warmth to the high contrast space is the Rye White Oak back panel to frame the TV, it ties in with the beautiful flooring and other wood elements. Long time friend and designer Liz, pulled the space together with stunning Marble countertops and a full height backsplash.

ORIGINAL FLAIR
Bowery Black

Open shelving spanning across the room expanded the space allowing for easy access to the daily dishes while creating the opportunity to display collectables or culture. AyA's Bowery Black slab door is sleek and dramatic providing clean lines, storage and maintaining a minimal aesthetic. After tackling their NKBA award-winning kitchen renovation the clients wanted to continue the look into their dining space.

SUBLIME AMBIANCE
Manhattan Oyster & Java White Oak

Nella was the builder on this project, during the process she fell in love with the house and decided to sell her home rather then sell the new custom build. This new space was smaller then her previous home but with grown up kids the modern style worked for her and her husband. The clients main goals for the kitchen was to open the space into the family room and to make it feel like an extension of the home, producing a better flow. A standout focal point is the large island; a table was built into the side of the island to maximize seating for entertaining without compromising the space. Beautiful Porcelain slab backsplash was added to give drama to the cooking area and highlight the 11-foot ceiling.

KITCHEN BLISS
Pacifica Oyster

The homeowner was a fan of Amy's work so it seemed to be a natural fit to go with AyA Kitchens for her dream kitchen. AyA's shaker Pacifica door style in Oyster was the perfect choice and paired beautifully with Cambria's Brittanicca countertop. The clean white with grey veining countertop carries up the wall seamlessly as the backsplash, making an elegant statement. The homeowner felt a bit overwhelmed with the many hardware details, faucet and sink, but Amy assisted with suggestions that met the client's vision. The partnership proved to be a huge success as the design was both stunning and functional and fit with the home and family's lifestyle.

FRESH COMFORT
Medio Blue Mist

Fresh, bright and inviting is this cozy kitchen space in AyA’s new Blue Mist painted finish. A cozy mix of cool and warm accents creates a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere engaging people to help themselves to the kitchen. The decision to select floating shelves in a natural maple visually opens the cooking space also adding to the user-friendly layout. Integrated stainless-steel appliances provide a custom look and balance to the soft elegant tones. Black cabinet hardware, faucets and other minor details deliver a nice punctuation throughout the entire space.

DESIGN SYNERGY
Manhattan Natural Walnut and Oyster

A gorgeous design collaboration between AyA Designer Amy Dillon and Christopher DeBoer of Sybrandt Creative. Having worked together on previous projects with great success they decided on contrasting AyA's chic Manhattan Natural Walnut with painted Oyster. The kitchen has a minimal modern aesthetic but still feels warm and inviting. The kitchen was transformed from dark and cramped to an open space filled with natural light. The crown jewel and focal point is the glorious backsplash and range hood. At first the clients were a little hesitant on the vivid backsplash but in the end it turned out beautifully.

SPACIOUS & NEUTRAL
Berkshire Oyster and Shale

Maximizing pantry storage was important to the homeowners as they changed the floor plan of the house, deciding not to have a walk in pantry to allow for a larger kitchen area. The entire kitchen design was based around the range and custom hood, an open wall space that feels spacious and airy creating an impact. Dark pendant lights hanging on either side defining this area really creates a focal point and complements the dark cabinet hardware and facets. The cooking area is also symmetrical with tall cabinets on each side with matching lift-up appliance garages, perfect for concealing small appliances when not in use. A second sink was a must for the kids to wash up for dinner and doubled for easy food prep beside the range.

Arlington Barley Cherry

The goal was to open up the space and make it bright. By reducing upper cabinets and opting for open shelving, the space appears larger and highlights the exposed brick wall. A new niche was created to house the appliances by moving the entryway to the kitchen - this allowed for tall and deep appliances to be tucked away providing a long run of much needed counter space. The inspiration for the appliance wall is to have the Chelsea High Gloss Grey cabinetry blend in seamlessly with the stainless-steel appliances keeping this wall clean and subtle, an interesting contrast to the more traditional cherry and painted cabinetry in the space. To further highlight the exposed brick wall and cooktop area we designed a custom hood with a mix of our Oyster painted finshed and a mirror finish with a stainless steel backsplash for a pop of interest.

CONTEMPORARY KITCHEN WITH RUSTIC CHARM
Arlington & Manhattan Pitch Black

Paul and Marcy Rowan approached AyA designer Amy Dillon with a clear vision of the space and what they wanted to do. Being creative people they were open to interesting ideas and ways to create a unique kitchen different from your everyday. The outcome is a contemporary kitchen with clean lines and rustic touches. AyA's Arlington and Manhattan doors in a Pitch Black finish really draw your eye to the high ceiling and add a nice contrast to the brick wall. This space features smart and creative solutions that truly make this a special and one of a kind kitchen.

EARTHLY DELIGHTS
Manhattan Slate Grey Walnut & Broadway White High Gloss

These stacked upper cabinets flush with the fridge and pantry add drama and depth to this grand space with high ceilings. AyA's beautiful grain Walnut slab doors against the White High Gloss uppers in the cooktop area create a rich contrast. Fitting an island and breakfast table within the dimensions proved to be a challenge. Our solution was to design an island with a lowered table and bar top done in a striking walnut butcher block. By merging both we save space and still retain seating while not interrupting the flow of the kitchen.
