BIO
The Backcountry Hut Company started in 2015 as an idea for a simple, recreational structure that could be easily installed in a remote location — something that most backcountry enthusiasts romanticize over. After working with the outdoor community in the mountains of the Pacific Northwest, founder Wilson Edgar was inspired to collaborate with Michael Leckie, Principal Architect of Leckie Studio, on a design for a prefabricated shelter that wasn’t limited to being extremely rudimentary. Working together on the modular design of the Backcountry Hut, the team reached out to Cyrill Werlen, a master builder from Saas-Fe, Switzerland with an appreciation for quality and the concept of self-assembly.
The main floor is open concept with a kitchen that features AyA cabinetry. In keeping with the modern and minimal aesthetic AyA's Manhattan Natural Maple doors paired perfectly, seamlessly blending the kitchen into the rest of the interior. The compact kitchen includes all the nessessities discreetly within the integrated design. The undermount stainless-steel sink, integrated fridge and cooktop provide their function while maintaining the simple backcountry atmosphere. Sleek inset door handles on the lower cabinetry are subtle and hidden to minimize any embellishments. The kitchen also featured a phone charging drawer, now you can keep your devices charging within your kitchen and at your finger tips.
The kitchen introduced AyA's New ELITE line, the next level in cabinet interiors and accessories. AyA ELITE features upgrades such as linen print cabinet interiors and exclusive accessories/inserts including the phone charging drawer along with the new drawer system. Go beyond the doors with the new AyA ELITE while still receiving AyA's award-winning design and quality.
