WOODMARK QUALITY SYSTEM

AyA Kitchens and Baths is pleased to announce that they have achieved WOODMARK Quality Certification. AyA is the 1st Kitchen Manufacturer in Ontario to receive Woodmark Certification, and the 2nd largest of all certified companies. The 9 month completion date was only possible due to the acceptance and involvement of all employees and associates.

Established in 2001, AyA is one of the industry's fastest growing companies, now employing over 300 people and selling in markets from Western Canada to South Florida, including 4 locations in the GTA. The drive to be first in quality coupled with the strains of hyper growth lead AyA to the Woodmark Quality System. Designed by the Wood Products Quality Council specifically for the challenges facing the wood products industry, Woodmark was ideally suited to the needs of this young and ambitious company.

The Woodmark program compliments AyA's plans for a strong position in a competitive and quality driven industry and built on the strong manufacturing technology and IT systems AyA already had in place. Woodmark helped AyA set company wide goals, standards and procedures and has created better channels of communication throughout the company. Quality Manager, Dan Thompson is impressed with the positive results generated and overall momentum the program has created within the facility. "Woodmark has been instrumental in fostering a culture of caring and continuous improvement," said AyA president Dave Marcus.

The Woodmark Quality System (WQS) is an industry-specific quality certification program developed by the Wood Products Quality Council (WPQC). The Wood Products Quality Council was formed in 1997 with the goal to aid manufacturers in the wood products processing industry in their quest to deliver ever-improving value to their customers, while improving overall efficiency and profitability of their operations. To do this member companies must adopt the total quality principles and practices administered by the council. Quality management provides the framework for companies to examine everyday activities, identify opportunities for improvement, and continually strive to complete the best possible results.
