"AyA Kitchens, based in Mississauga, uses a lot of this wood to fabricate custom cabinetry for its clients, but ends up with piles of short scraps after cutting their stems and rails. Instead of sending the wood to landfil, AyA leaves out a pile of these cast-offs every few months for Wornoff. He cuts them all to the same length and glues them together to make elegant cutting boards."
